PURE Trophy Guide

22 02 2010

What’s this? A trophy guide? Yes, it’s been quite a while since my last trophy guide and you are correct this is a trophy guide in 2010 for a game that came out two years ago. However I didn’t just pick up this game for the trophies I recently reviewed PURE and if my recommendation wasn’t glowing enough in the review then this guide should be. It usually takes a lot for me to continually play a game until completion or even to achieve a platinum trophy but I found the game to be fun and the trophies not to be too difficult. So without further a do this is how I attained that elusive platinum for Pure. Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions in the comment section below. Now get out there and start hunting…

PURE Platinum (Platinum): Acquire all Pure Trophies

  • Earn all Bronze, Silver, and Gold Trophies in PURE

Finished an Event (Bronze): Complete an event

  • Simply finish any one of the three events types, easiest is probably Sprint races.

Completed Stage 1 (Bronze): Place first in all four events in Stage 1

  • Place first in all four events in this stage.
  • Caution: Complete the ‘No Messing’ trophy first then come back and complete all of the events in this stage to obtain the trophy.

Completed Stage 2 (Bronze): Place first in all four events in Stage 2

  • Place first in all four events in this stage.
  • Caution: Complete the ‘No Messing’ trophy first then come back and complete all of the events in this stage to obtain the trophy.

Completed Stage 3 (Bronze): Place first in all four events in Stage 3

  • Place first in all four events in this stage.
  • Caution: Complete the ‘No Messing’ trophy first then come back and complete all of the events in this stage to obtain the trophy.

Completed Stage 4 (Bronze): Place first in all four events in Stage 4

  • Place first in all four events in this stage.
  • Caution: Complete the ‘No Messing’ trophy first then come back and complete all of the events in this stage to obtain the trophy.

Completed Stage 5 (Bronze): Place first in all five events in Stage 5

  • Place first in all five events in this stage.
  • Caution: Complete the ‘No Messing’ trophy first then come back and complete all of the events in this stage to obtain the trophy.

Completed Stage 6 (Bronze): Place first in all five events in Stage 6

  • Place first in all five events in this stage.
  • Caution: Complete the ‘No Messing’ trophy first then come back and complete all of the events in this stage to obtain the trophy.

Completed Stage 7 (Bronze): Place first in all five events in Stage 7

  • Place first in all five events in this stage.

Completed Stage 8 (Bronze): Place first in all six events in Stage 8

  • Place first in all six events in this stage.

Completed Stage 9 (Bronze): Place first in all six events in Stage 9

  • Place first in all six events in this stage.

Completed Stage 10 (Bronze): Place first in all seven events in Stage 10

  • Place first in all seven events in this stage.

1 of a Kind (Bronze): Build an ATV from scratch in the garage

  • When you first start the game go into the Garage and make your first ATV ensure that you pick all of the parts yourself and do not auto fill.

Fully Loaded (Bronze): Unlock and then fill all ten ATV slots in the garage

  • After you complete stage nine all ten slot will then be available then simply create an ATV for each slot. For this trophy you can use the auto fill option to create ATV’s.
  • Note: This trophy can be completed in conjunction with the ‘Mechanic’ trophy below.

Mechanic (Bronze): Build 5 ATV’s each with a different engine

  • Again once you unlock five slots in your Garage you will need to build five separate ATV’s each with a different engine and the trophy will be yours.

Flawless Lap (Bronze): Complete a lap of a race event in World Tour without dismounting

  • Complete one full lap of any event type in the World Tour without falling off or doing any tricks that would force you to dismount your ATV. For me this was easiest on a Sprint track due to the short length.
  • Note: This trophy can be completed in conjunction with the ‘Flawless Event’ trophy below.

Flawless Event (Bronze): Complete a World Tour event without dismounting

  • Complete one World Tour event without falling off or doing any tricks that would force you to dismount your ATV. Again this is probably easiest on a Sprint event due to the short length and non-technical terrain.

Tricked Out (Silver): Perform every normal trick in a single World Tour event

  • For this trophy you must complete all 48 normal tricks for X, O, and Triangle in their standard and modified forms by adding L1 or R1 to the trick in a single World Tour event. I found ‘Ghost Creek’ to be the easiest track as it has a mixture of small and medium jump but find a track that you are comfortable with to begin. It will help if you perform multiple tricks in one jump however if you crash none of the jumps in that sequence will count. The tricks are:
  • ‘X’ Button Tricks
  1. Up: Bar Hop Modified: Shaolin
  2. Left: Nac Nac Modified: One Handed Nac Nac
  3. Right: Nac Nac Modified: One Handed Nac Nac
  4. Down: Coffin Modified: Lazy Boy
  5. Up/Left: Can Can Modified: 2 Footed Can Can
  6. Up/Right: Can Can Modified: 2 Footed Can Can
  7. Down/Left: Look Over Modified: Point Break
  8. Down/Right: Look Over Modified: Point Break
  • ‘O’ Button Tricks

  1. Up: Cordova Modified: One Footed Cordova
  2. Left: Running Man Modified: 90 O’clock
  3. Right: Running Man Modified: 90 O’clock
  4. Down: Superman Modified: Superman Seat Grab
  5. Up/Left: Supercan Modified: Supercan Indy
  6. Up/Right: Supercan Modified: Supercan Indy
  7. Down/Left: Indian Air Modified: One Footed Indian Air
  8. Down/Right: Indian Air Modified: One Footed Indian Air
  • ‘Triangle’ Button Tricks

  1. Up: Ruler Modified: Scorpion Fender Kiss
  2. Left: Madcopter Modified: Flinstone
  3. Right: Madcopter Modified: Flinstone
  4. Down: Cliffhanger Modified: Sky Scraper
  5. Up/Left: Side Show Modified: Tweak Air
  6. Up/Right: Side Show Modified: Tweak Air
  7. Down/Left: Superman Seat Grab Modified: Indy Superman Seat Grab
  8. Down/Right: Superman Seat Grab Modified: Indy Superman Seat Grab

Specialized (Silver): Perform 8 different special tricks in a Single World Tour event

  • To complete you need to perform 8 special tricks in a single World Tour event meaning you will have to successfully land all of the directional pad variations for instance Up, Left, Right, Down, Up/Left, Up/Right, Down/Left and Down/Right. To perform a special trick simply hold one of the above directional positions as well as L1 & R1 while your boost meter is full. I found this trophy is easier to complete on a track with lots of larger jumps like Ghost Creek or Sandy Mountains.

Freestyler (Silver): Extend a Freestyle session past the third lap

  • This is one of the harder trophies however it won’t take you too long if you follow these rules. First it must be done on a shorter map like Glamis, Ocotillo Wells or even Phu Temples. You must also take all of the shortcuts while trying to obtain as many fuel icons as possible which is usually just luck but after playing a few times you begin to see a pattern. Lastly use tricks sparingly since if you repeat a trick you lose gas faster and if you happen to fall off simply restart the race as you will NOT be able to get past the third lap. If you follow those guidelines it shouldn’t take you too long to complete.

Triple Flip (Silver): Pull off a 1080 forward or backward rotation in a single jump

  • This one is fairly easy simply head over to the Sandy Mountain track on any event type. Once the event starts build up some boost and pre-load before the large jump then quickly snap down on the R3 button twice and hold until you complete three full rotations. Upon landing the trophy should unlock.

Nice Combo! (Bronze): Perform a combo of at least 50,000

  • See ‘Killer Combo!

Sick Combo! (Silver): Perform a combo of at least 125,000

  • See ‘Killer Combo!’

Killer Combo! (Gold): Perform a combo of at least 250,000

  • Although this may seem tough it’s actually fairly easy once you get your line and rhythm. In order to complete start a freestyle event on Phu Temples with a Class ‘A’ ATV. The trick to receiving a high score is to keep your combo up by boosting between jumps and varying your tricks while successfully landing a few special tricks. If you are able to do that then this trophy isn’t a problem at all.

You’re Special! (Silver): Perform every special trick in the game

  • There are a total of seven riders each with a unique trick along with seven other shared tricks. It should be noted that not all of the special tricks will be unlocked until you finish first in every World Tour event. Find a track you feel comfortable with begin to use every character making sure to perform each of there special tricks. For reference here is a list of drivers along with their corresponding special tricks.

Pure Perfection (Gold): Come first in every event in the Pure World Tour

  • Simply place first in every event of the 10 stages on the Pure World Tour

  • Caution: Complete the ‘No Messing’ trophy first then come back and complete all of the events in the Pure World Tour.

Grease Monkey (Silver): Earn a 1st place with every engine type in World Tour mode

  • Go into the garage and have 5 ATV’s with different engines ready, the rest of the parts don’t matter. Start up a World Tour event, I have found sprint to be the easiest and fastest. Once you come in first place with the one ATV rinse and repeat with the other four ATV’s and the trophy will be yours. All of the wins can be on the same event or different events the choice is yours.

Comeback Kid (Silver): Come from last place on the last lap to win a race event in World Tour mode

  • This trophy is easiest on the Glamis track in stage 1, if you are following along from the beginning then it can be done then otherwise you should start a new game. The reason to start a new game is the AI is much improved once you beat the world tour. Once in the race build up your entire boost for the first two laps ensuring that you are in last place once you start the third lap – at this point boost the last lap. You should continue to do tricks to keep your boost up while also taking as many of the shortcuts as possible. I was able to complete this on my first try.

Fresh Air (Silver): Win a Freestyle event with fresh tricks only

  • To unlock this trophy start up a Freestyle event and chain together as many fresh tricks as possible, fresh tricks are tricks you haven’t successfully landed yet. If you run out of fresh tricks then simply crash as all tricks are fresh again.
  • Note: Make sure to use the modified version of tricks as well.

No Messing (Silver): Complete World Tour mode while participating in a maximum of 42 events

  • This is the trophy that should be completed first before any of the others. To complete this trophy you need to complete the World Tour by participating in a maximum of 42 events. Meaning as soon as you unlock a new stage go there immediately, you will also need to get first place in every event you participate in, if you don’t then simply restart the race. By the time you complete the last event your World Rank will be 16 if in fact you did participate in too many events then complete all of the other trophies first then come back to this one as you will have to delete your save file and start again. Here is the number of event wins you should have in each stage.
    1. Stage 1: 32 of 36 tour points (2 event wins)
    2. Stage 2: 32 of 64 tour points (2 event wins)
    3. Stage 3: 48 of 64 tour points (3 event wins)
    4. Stage 4: 48 of 64 tour points (3 event wins)
    5. Stage 5: 64 of 80 tour points (4 event wins)
    6. Stage 6: 64 of 80 tour points (4 event wins)
    7. Stage 7: 80 of 80 tour points (5 event wins)
    8. Stage 8: 96 of 96 tour points (6 event wins)
    9. Stage 9: 96 of 96 tour points (6 event wins)
    10. Stage 10: 112 of 112 tour points (7 event wins)

Zero to Hero (Silver): Acquire a special trick within 30 seconds of a race starting

  • Do this trophy on the Ghost Creek event and make sure to perform the circle and triangle tricks as soon as they are available. By the third jump you should have this trophy, if not simply restart the race and try again. Remember you only have to acquire the special trick NOT perform.

You Reckon? (Bronze): Pull a special trick on a Sprint track

  • There are a number of different tracks to complete this on personally I used Alto Vista but its all personal choice. Anyways setup a single sprint event and set the laps to 10 which should give you plenty of time to build up enough boost to acquire the special trick after successfully landing the special trick the trophy will be yours. It obviously helps if your ATV has a high trick count.

Two Time (Silver): Perform two special tricks in 1 jump

  • This was one of the last trophies I completed and was a complete hassle for me to obtain. However I have found others obtain it with little effort. Although one of the reoccurring themes if you search is that not many people cleanly land this trick and that was true of myself as well. This trophy must be completed on the Sandy Mountain track get plenty of boost and pre-load as well. I personally used Takeshi Yukio as the rider while performing a Gyromaniac & Blind Faith as my two special tricks. As I stated before I did not cleanly land but some how flipped back on my wheels granting me the trophy which seems to be common. My only other tip besides persistence is to hold your next special trick before you finish your first trick.

Hang Time (Bronze): Spending 150+ seconds in the air and win the same event

  • This trophy can be done on many tracks however I found the easiest was Sandy Mountain. Therefore setup a single race event with the laps set to 10 this will give you plenty of time to get the acquired air and still finish in first.

Learner Driver (Bronze): Lap another rider in an offline Sprint track event

  • This trophy can easily be done in the early stages of the World Tour however if you missed that opportunity then simply setup a Sprint race on any track with the AI set to rookie and the laps set to 10. This will give you plenty of time to lap another rider.

No Pain, No Gain (Bronze): Crash ten times and still win an event

  • I personally completed this trophy while also completing the ‘Hang Time’ trophy. That is not necessary however the process is much of the same, setup a single race event on Sandy Mountain with the laps set to 10 this will give you ample opportunity to crash 10 times and still win the event.

Full Speed Ahead (Bronze): Hold down the gas for the entire event and finish in 1st place

  • I was able to complete this one without even knowing it, simply hold down the gas the entire event and finish in first place. This is easiest on a Sprint event due to its short length and non technical terrain.

Show Off (Bronze): Win a race or sprint event and cross the line while doing a wheelie on every lap

  • Again easiest on a Sprint event but whichever event you try it on simply push down on the L3 stick each time to cross the finish line which will result in you doing a wheelie as you cross the finish line. Once you complete the event the trophy will be yours.

Win Online (Bronze): Come first in an online event

  • See ‘5 in a Row

5 in a Row (Gold): Come first in 5 online events in a row

  • This trophy will be easier if you have a boosting partner or at least an agreement with the other racer that you can win. If that’s the case then simply refer to the ‘Online Champ’ trophy. If not it does make this trophy more difficult but not impossible if you have made it this far then you should be fairly decent at racing and know most of the shortcuts from there just attempt to win 5 races in a row. I found it best to only race against a few other individuals rather then a full room.

Underdog (Silver): Use a Class D engine to beat an opponent with a Class A engine in a ranked match

  • Like the other online trophies this can also boosted with a friend however it’s not necessary. Join a ranked game and be sure to pick an ATV with a class D engine most others WILL pick a class A so don’t worry. All you have to do is beat any one of the other racers however if in the middle of the race someone drops out stay in the game as that WILL count as beating them once the race is completed.

Online Champ (Silver): Come first in a online championship

  • If you have a boosting partner then this will be really easy just setup a race championship and invite your partner to the game. Win every race and the trophy is yours. Like the others it’s a tad more difficult without a partner but again not terribly difficult. All you do is again setup a race championship of your choice and attempt to win the championship upon doing so the trophy will be yours.

Wow, great work! I enjoyed Pure but sadly don’t think I’ve got time to go back to it with everything else that’s coming up!
